NARCOTICS ANONYMOUS

Narcotics Anonymous – continues offering its services at Good Shepherd Church for over 27 years

Addiction has permeated our society in a big way. Thousands of people especially the youth are becoming victims of this fatal scourge and are losing their physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual well-being. Many among them end up in jails, institutions and even premature death.

You may be aware that Narcotics Anonymous (NA) has been actively involved in carrying the message of hope and recovery to suffering addicts worldwide. Narcotics Anonymous (NA) originated in Southern California, USA, in 1953. In India, Narcotics Anonymous (NA) began in Mahim, Mumbai in 1983 and soon NA Meetings began in several parts of the city. At Good Shepherd Church, Narcotics Anonymous (NA) began in 1994 and has been conducting NA Meetings uninterruptedly for over 27 years. We thank the Church and the parishioners who have been very supportive and encouraging towards our primary purpose of carrying the message of hope and recovery to suffering addicts.

Throughout these 27 years of our presence in Good Shepherd Church, Narcotics Anonymous (NA) has been given full support and cooperation by the Good Shepherd Church authorities and by the parishioners as a result we have been able to reach out to more suffering addicts and our numbers have grown. We are indeed grateful for the opportunity given to us to serve society and try and bring hope to those who are still afflicted by the horrors of addiction.

Addiction is affecting more people than ever. We have a long way to go and we can’t do it alone. Possibly, together we can help the addict who still suffers.
