The Steering Committee comprises of the Parish Priest and clergy, Parish SCC Coordinator and Area Coordinators, plus all the Community Coordinators of the parish. It is the largest group with representatives from every Community in the parish; a dedicated army of workers who can swing into action at short notice. The Parish SCC Coordinator works closely with the Parish Priest.
The basic functions of the Steering Committee are:
- To generate and evaluate regular feedback on the activities.
- To generate the necessary Database of the entire Community; Community Animators, Youth and Activities planned for the year.
- To identify problems being faced by Community Members and bring them up at the Meetings for discussions in order to find solutions.
- To ensure proper dissemination of all information at the Community level.
- To plan for getting as many Animators as possible to attend Training Programmes at the parish, deanery and Diocesan levels.
- To explore avenues where the Communities can assist at the parish level at the various parish Cells and Associations and parish functions.
- To share individual/ Community experiences at the Meetings for the benefit of others.
- To ensure Quarterly Reports are submitted on time to the Bishop.
- Revival of dormant Communities.
- Reaching out to people within the Community members, not forgetting people of other faiths.
The Steering Committee meets on the 1st Sun of every month at 06:30 pm.
