Parish Pastoral Council (PPC)
Parish representation, pastoral planning and participation in parish life.
About Parish Pastoral Council (PPC)
The PPC consists of the Parish Priest, the parish clergy, the Superiors from the two convents in the parish, elected members from each of the Small Christian Communities, and elected representatives from five active associations within the parish. The PPC is constituted according to guidelines issued by the Archbishop.
The PPC is a representative body of the parish involved in an ongoing formation process for the pastoral care of lay people. The Council does not deal with acts of administration, which are distinct from pastoral policies and planning.
The PPC meets on the first Sunday of each month to discuss agenda items such as forthcoming church festivals, parish programmes and programmes promoting Gospel values.
The following pastoral activities may form part of the Parish Pastoral Council’s agenda:
- Church festivals and sacramental life
- Catholic education of children and young adults
