Signs of grace

The seven sacraments

Christ meets us at every stage of the Christian journey.

Sacred encounters

God’s grace made visible

Sacraments are actions of the Holy Spirit at work in the Body of Christ, the Church. Instituted by Christ, they touch all the stages and important moments of Christian life.

Holy Baptism is the gateway to life in the Spirit and the door to the other sacraments. A prerequisite form must be submitted to the parish office and parents attend pre-baptismal catechesis.

Through anointing with Sacred Chrism, the baptized are strengthened by the gift of the Holy Spirit. Parish preparation classes are conducted for eligible candidates.

The Holy Eucharist completes Christian initiation and makes present Christ’s sacrifice, unity and love in the life of the Church.

Christ offers conversion, healing and forgiveness to the baptized through confession and absolution.

The Church entrusts those who are ill to the suffering and glorified Lord, bringing comfort, courage and grace.

In Christian marriage, a man and woman establish a lifelong covenant of love and become a sign of Christ’s faithful love for the Church.

Through Holy Orders, the mission entrusted by Christ to the apostles continues in the Church through ordained ministry.
